A walk in a Winter Wonderland

Well, the holidays are over. The feasting is no more. And the urge to get out of the house has arrived. We (Elizabeth and I) actually did this one a week ago. At about -5F today in Vermont, there is no way! This was a nice start to approaching the outdoors during the Winter time. It was a pleasant, sunny day with temps around 30F. At a moderate incline, and only about 2.5 miles or so round trip, it was a perfect hike. Did not even require snowshoes as it is primarily composed of a well-maintained carriage trail. Not much noteworthy to see, but there is just something about fresh snowfall that is such a pleasure to walk in. Although, would you believe me that the image is supposed to contain water? That is right; it is all underneath the thick layer of ice and a thinner layer of snow covering on the top.
