Counter Culture Coffee - Halloween Bundle

This was a great bundle from Counter Culture! I am not sure that they left much to the imagination here, however. No tricks here, just treats!

As expected, the white bag was a light roast and the black bag a darker one. It isn’t too often that I get a bundle like this (I like variety and rotating a lot), but I have always enjoyed what this company produces, so I figured it’d be fine to give it a go.

And I was correct. From the get-go, I was blown away by the aroma from the white bag (very fruity!). Also, when brewing with a pour over, it creates that tea-like body that I love. If it had a bit more citric notes, it would be close to a perfect cup for me.

The darker one, which I explored second, was very rich in roasty aroma as well. Unfortunately, I do not think I could find a recipe that brought out the best flavors. It was not bad, but I am not sure my methods did it justice. If I had to give an answer to “well, what method was best?” I would say Chemex, actually; seems to have produced the most varied flavor. But to be honest, I have been using it mostly with my moka pot to create “espresso” drinks.

Overall, I think that they have kept me as a future customer and I would not hestiate to order from them in the future.
